The three stations
- Ollantaytambo: In the Sacred Valley, about two hours by road from Cusco. Trains to Machu Picchu all year, from PeruRail and Inca Rail, with the most departures.
- Poroy: About 20 minutes from central Cusco, at 3,499 m. PeruRail runs from here from May to December; the trip to Machu Picchu takes about 3 h 30.
- San Pedro: In the city of Cusco. In PeruRail's May–December 2026 timetable it has early direct departures, at 06:40 and 07:30.
From January to April there are no trains from Poroy or San Pedro. A ticket 'from Cusco' is bus plus train: PeruRail's bus leaves from Wanchaq station, Inca Rail's from Calle Santa Teresa 344. Details in the train from January to April.
