1. Acceptance
By booking a ticket on machupicchu.world you agree to these terms, to the rules and regulations set by Peru's Ministry of Culture (SERNANP / DDC-Cusco) that govern access to Machu Picchu, and to the payment terms of our processor Izipay. If you don't agree with any of these, don't complete the booking.
2. Tickets & the Ministry of Culture
We resell official entrance tickets issued by Peru's Ministry of Culture. Once a ticket is issued for a specific circuit, date and time window, that combination is FIXED — it can't be swapped for a different circuit, date or time without going through the reschedule process below. The name and document number on each ticket must match the physical ID presented at the entrance gate; the Ministry will not allow entry with mismatched documents.
3. Rescheduling
You may request to reschedule to a different date up to 24 hours before your original entry time, subject to availability on the target date. Rescheduling requests inside the 24-hour window are not guaranteed and depend on Ministry approval. A rescheduling fee may apply.
4. Cancellations & refunds
Ministry of Culture entrance tickets are non-refundable once issued. If the Ministry cancels a visit for reasons outside our control (strikes, weather, infrastructure), we will pass any refund we receive from them on to you, minus payment processor fees that we cannot recover. Cancellations you request are not eligible for a refund — see the reschedule policy above instead.
5. Pricing & payment
The price shown at checkout is the final price. Currency conversion, foreign transaction fees and card issuer surcharges are between you and your bank. Payments are processed by Izipay and are subject to their terms; we don't store your full card number. If a transaction is charged back, we reserve the right to cancel any tickets tied to that transaction.
6. Conduct at the sanctuary
Machu Picchu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors must follow the current Ministry regulations — no drones, no tripods, no flags, no touching or climbing the ruins, no leaving the marked route, no plastic bottles inside the site. Violations can result in ejection and, in severe cases, criminal charges under Peruvian heritage-protection law. Any losses arising from a visitor's violation are the visitor's responsibility.
7. Limitation of liability
We facilitate the booking; we do not operate the sanctuary or the transportation to it. We are not liable for altitude sickness, weather closures, transport delays, strikes, injuries during hikes on Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain or other trails, or losses of personal property. Consider travel insurance.
8. Privacy
We collect only the personal data required to issue the ticket and process the payment: buyer contact, traveler names and document numbers, and the payment data required by Izipay. We share traveler data with the Ministry of Culture (required to issue the ticket) and with Izipay (required to process the payment). We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the version in effect for your booking is the one on this page at the moment you completed checkout. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Cusco, Peru, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
