PeruRail Vistadome: the train with the glass roof

The ride to Machu Picchu runs down a canyon, so the best views are up. Vistadome is built for that, with glass in the ceiling as well as the sides. Here is what it is, where it leaves from and the Inca Rail train closest to it.

What Vistadome is

PeruRail presents Vistadome as its more scenic experience: panoramic windows and glass-dome ceilings designed to make the most of the Andean landscape. Like Expedition, it runs between Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu Town and is also sold from Cusco as a bimodal service.

Vistadome or Inca Rail The 360°

Both are the step up from the standard class with more view. Vistadome puts glass overhead; The 360° adds an open-air observatory car and includes Andean snacks. We sell Inca Rail, so The 360° is the one you can add in Mi Tour after booking your entrance.

What is the difference between Vistadome and Vistadome Observatory?

Vistadome has panoramic windows and glass ceilings. Vistadome Observatory adds an observatory car with an open-air balcony, a live cultural show and snacks and drinks. See [Vistadome Observatory](/blog/perurail-vistadome-observatory-train).

The entrance is the part that sells out

Trains have several departures a day; entrance tickets for a date run out first. Secure the ticket, then the train — Inca Rail directly in Mi Tour, or PeruRail on its own website.
